Plan your budget as money flowing between your accounts
Multi-step flows, smart flows and shared budgets do what your spreadsheet formulas cannot.
The same budget, drawn as the path your money takes
BudgetFlow knows how money moves and calculates the amounts for you
Multi-step flows follow the real path of your money
Rent is one row, and which account pays it and how the money gets there lives in your head.
One flow passes every account on the way, and each step carries the amount, so every account shows what goes in and out.
This is one flow with three steps: Main Account, Bills and Rent. Bills shows the 1485 passing through it, and you add another step with one click.
Smart flows recalculate when anything changes
Formulas work out what is left, and they need fixing whenever you add a row.
Smart flows compute their own amount, so when your rent changes your savings update with it.
The smart flows calculated the 367 for Bills and the 2668 for Savings.
Share a budget without sharing everything
You copy the sheet for your partner, and the two copies drift apart.
Each member of a shared budget picks the accounts to share, and everyone sees those accounts and the flows between them while everything else stays private.
Anna and Ben each pay into the joint account, and whatever is left goes to the holiday fund.
Details that keep a larger budget correct
Mistakes get flagged
A warning lists accounts that pay out more than they get, cash left over, and smart flows that carry nothing.
Any interval
Enter amounts daily, weekly, biweekly, monthly or yearly, view the whole budget in any of them, and type math like 33.5 * 4 as an amount.
